The Med-VMR Pediatric / Child Vacuum Immobilizer is a specialized positioning system developed specifically for MRI environments to provide safe, comfortable, and highly effective immobilization of infants and young children during imaging procedures.
Using an air-tight, chambered vacuum bag filled with evenly distributed microbeads, the system gently molds around the child’s body when connected to a vacuum source (sold separately). Once air is removed, the immobilizer forms a firm yet cushioned cradle that helps minimize patient movement without applying uncomfortable pressure. This secure positioning improves image quality while supporting a calmer imaging experience and reducing the need for repeat scans or sedation.
The Med-VMR is MRI Safe and radiolucent within the MRI environment, delivering artifact-free imaging performance and reliable compatibility with MRI systems. While the immobilizer may also be used in CT and X-ray procedures, it is important to note that the product was engineered, tested, and validated specifically for MRI use. Performance characteristics such as artifact behavior outside of MRI environments are not part of the manufacturer’s design or testing specifications.
For this reason, the Med-VMR should be evaluated by each facility for non-MRI applications based on their specific protocols and imaging requirements.
