Today is Earth Day – Let’s do our part!
Earth Day, celebrated annually on April 22nd, is a day dedicated to raising awareness and taking action to protect our planet. At Z&Z Medical, we believe that every day should be Earth Day, and we are committed to doing our part to protect the environment. One way we do this is through our lead apron recycling program.
Lead aprons are an essential piece of equipment used in many medical and dental facilities to protect patients and staff from radiation exposure. However, after years of use, lead aprons can become worn and need to be replaced. Instead of ending up in a landfill, these aprons can be recycled and the lead can be repurposed.
Our lead apron recycling program is simple and easy to use. We provide a prepaid shipping label for customers to send their old lead aprons to our facility. Once we receive the aprons, we sort and process them to remove any contaminants, and then the lead is sent to a facility where it will be melted down and used to create new products such as lead bricks, radiation shielding and other products.
By participating in our lead apron recycling program, our customers are not only protecting the environment, but they are also helping to conserve natural resources and reduce the need to mine new lead. In addition, our program also helps to reduce the risk of environmental contamination caused by improper disposal of lead.
