Artifacts are unwanted structures that can appear on x-ray images and can make it difficult for radiologists to detect and diagnose abnormalities. These Artifact-Free X-ray Sponges are made from a special material that does not interfere with x-ray imaging, eliminating the appearance of artifacts on the images. The heavy duty coating is easy to clean and does not peel of tear easily like other coated sponges on the market today.

This product requires stitching and can only be added to new apron orders or to aprons that are returned to us. These wings cannot be shipped separately or attached in the field.

Why Axillary Protection Matters:

A recent BMJ article highlights the urgent need to address radiation exposure during image-guided procedures, particularly for female healthcare professionals. More women are entering image-guided specialties such as orthopedics, interventional radiology, cardiology, and radiological technology. Studies indicate a higher risk of breast cancer among female healthcare workers due to ionizing radiation exposure.
